He Sent Us a David!

As most of you know, we have been in the middle of a pretty major home renovation over the last month. We had the entire interior of our house painted, completed some much-needed repairs, and then moved on to new flooring.

Then last week, we hit a major roadblock.

Our flooring installation crew began the project by tearing out the kitchen floor and removing most of the carpet. But from the very first day, something felt off. The lead installer arrived frustrated, complaining that he hadn't been told the scope of the project. He was rough during the demo, grumbling—and at one point literally growling—as he worked.

I looked at Ed and quietly said, "I'm going outside."

Over the next few days, he was rarely here, leaving his crew to work while the atmosphere just didn't feel right.

On Tuesday evening, Ed and I felt led to pray over the thresholds of our home. We decreed that anything not sent by God was not welcome and had to fall at the threshold.

A few days later, everything unraveled.

The crew could no longer continue the project, and suddenly we were left with torn-up floors, no carpet, and a house that looked like a construction disaster.

If you've ever lived in the middle of a renovation, you know it's not exactly peaceful!

We were disappointed. Frustrated. Even angry.

But after a few days, Holy Spirit connected the dots.

Our decree had worked.

The wrong assignment couldn't cross the threshold.

Our flooring contractor immediately began searching for someone he trusted to finish the job. After several conversations, he found a craftsman willing to drive all the way from Panama City.

His name?

David.

On Monday evening as we prayed, the Lord prompted Ed to begin thanking Him for sending David to help us recover all that had been lost.

We looked at each other and just smiled.

Throughout our KAM Family 50-Day Journey we've been pressing into the promise of "Press. Pursue. Recover All." Just as David pursued the raiders and recovered everything that had been taken in 1 Samuel 30, the Lord sent us a David to restore what had been interrupted.

This David has worked with incredible care, excellence, and integrity. Every detail matters to him. Even more beautiful, Ed has had opportunities to minister to him while he works.

God's ways are always higher than ours.

Sometimes what looks like a setback is actually divine protection.

Sometimes a closed door is really a guarded threshold.

And sometimes the Lord doesn't just give us a message—

He invites us to live it.

So today we're grateful.

Grateful for answered prayers.

Grateful for protected thresholds.

Grateful for God's perfect timing.

And grateful that when He declares, "Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all," He is faithful to send exactly what—and who—we need.

Sometimes the testimony is already on its way... and its name is David.
